Have you updated your IFT Connect profile lately? Whether you have or have not, we hope you’ll take a look at your profile while asking yourself what types of connections you’d like to find in this community.
Looking to build your personal network? Ditch the resume approach to your profile and share information in your bio both about your current role but also about your interests, passions, and goals beyond it. Giving your fellow IFT members some insight into what you do along with your interests outside your work responsibilities may open the door to a greater array of connections.
Looking to make connections that bring efficiency in problem solving as well as enhance your knowledge and technical skills? Drill deep into the responsibilities of your role. This will help connections know exactly the products and opportunities to share with you.
So... where do you start?
Your name: Using the same name across platforms will help existing connections and new ones find you in IFT Connect.
Your current position: Indicate what your current position is and the tasks you’re responsible for.
Your experience: You can mention key roles you’ve held in the past and how you got where you are today. This is where other members can gain insight into your journey and specialty.
What do you do outside of work? This is where you can be more personable about what you like to do when you’re not working. Do you like to go on adventures like rock climbing, restaurant hopping, binge-watch Netflix, or volunteering efforts?
Accomplishments: This is a great way to join your personal and professional achievements both at work and outside work. This gives you the opportunity to showcase your values and your capability to achieve them.
Personal Story: Don’t be scared to share a personal story.
How often should you refresh your profile? Anytime you change jobs, positions, or accomplish something new.
